Bollito misto and fresh pasta in the heart of Alba

Piedmontese bollito misto comes to the table in its pan, with the broth, boiled vegetables and three sauces. Tajarin, plin and gnocchi are fresh pasta made in-house, as at the Gastronomia da Petiti, in Alba since 1993.

A family story

The first Trattoria del Bollito opened in 1970 in Carmagnola, near Turin. It was run by the parents of Massimo, today our cook, and it was devoted to Piedmontese bollito misto.

In 1993 Massimo and his wife Patrizia opened the Gastronomia da Petiti in Alba, a delicatessen specialising in fresh pasta that became a fixture for local people.

Wanting to bring back the trattoria he grew up in, Massimo turned the delicatessen into a new Trattoria del Bollito: a wood-panelled room, walls of bottles and pasta served in the pan. It is still a delicatessen too, and many dishes can be ordered to take away.
